Peter Coyne entered the funeral profession straight from school 43 years ago when he worked for the family firm until it was taken over by a larger combine.
He formed his own company 20 years ago and was joined by his wife, Lorraine, to establish the independent family owned and run , Peter Coyne Independent Funeral Service.
Business started with a single premises in Rice Lane, Walton but quickly grew when branches were opened in Kirkby Town Centre, Longmoor Lane in Fazakerley and then The Grosvenor, a former cinema on Kirkdale’s Stanley Road .
Ten years ago Peter spotted a bank for sale on Queens Drive. It seemed appropriate to purchase the property as it appeared on Peter and Lorraine’s wedding photographs, having married at St. Matthew’s Church 25 years previously. The premises became their silver wedding present to each other, and replacing the original Rice Lane branch, became Millennium House.
Peter’s aim has always been to provide a genuine caring and professional service using only the best coffins and equipment sourced from locally family owned and run businesses where possible.
This family owned business employs professional, highly qualified staff who uphold the companies core values of trying always to do their best for bereaved families at all times.
Peter’s life long love of Mercedes cars encouraged him to provide brand new fleets of Mercedes Limousines and Hearses and he is eagerly awaiting the delivery of a fleet of new model Limousines early next year. His own car is ,of course, a Mercedes with the personal plate of 66 PC
( 6’6’’ being his height !!).
All staff work to the highest possible standards. Because we are not part of a larger combine with expensive corporate headquarters and dozens of highly paid executives, we are able to provide a first class service at reasonable costs.
Peter says “The wishes of the family are of paramount importance and we all have the desire to ensure that everyone is happy with the service they receive.”
